WASHINGTON, DC- You’ve heard of “The Empire Strikes Back?” Well, let’s call this “The Swamp Strikes Back.” If the first few suggested appointments to a theoretical Biden administration are any clue, the next four years promises to be a return back to the good old “deep state swamp days.” John Kerry? Ugh.
In an op-ed in the Western Journal, Bob Ehrlich warns supporters of President Trump to buckle up. It’s going to (theoretically) an interesting ride.
So, with that in mind, here are some things we could “look forward” to if this conservative nightmare comes to fruition. In fact, some of this is already in play, as you’ll see in a minute.
The first thing we have to look forward to is censorship. Now, if you are still on platforms such as Fakebook and Twitter, you’re already well-versed in censorship. We have seen many conservatives suggesting a reading of books such as “1984” and “Animal Farm” for legitimate reasons…George Orwell was a prophet.
Time was censorship was panned from both sides of the political aisle. Ehrlich rightly notes that at one time, especially the political left was sensitive to any forms of censorship, led by groups such as the now-poorly named ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union).
While this group was on the forefront of a number of movements back 30 or 40 years ago, such as civil rights, the anti-war movement, and the equal rights movement, it is absent in today’s new era of censoring speech that goes against a particular narrative. And who is leading that censorship? The left.
So where exactly do we see this censorship? The most prominent is on social media, where anyone who questions the official state narrative of COVID-19 is censored at best and kicked off the platform permanently at worst. That censorship has now expanded to the election, where any mention of possible election fraud is met with the same fate…censorship or getting de-platformed.
Pro-police? You get your content throttled, as Law Enforcement Today has, getting our reach cut by up to 90%. Our national spokesman, Kyle Reyes and our founder, Robert Greenberg were permanently removed from LinkedIn for sharing stories we published, all of which were widely reported and meticulously cited. Censorship
Of course, there is academia. Conservatives such as Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk, Anne Coulter and others have been banned from some campuses, or when they are allowed to speak, are picketed, protested, shouted down or in some cases assaulted. One college last year banned the American flag, calling it a “symbol of hate.” Censorship.
Public schools? Blue Lives Matter hats, flags, and t-shirts are banned, also called “hate speech.” Or they are claimed to present a “threatening” message. Police officers on campus? Not any more in some cases. They are now a “threat.”
Don’t even THINK of having a Trump poster or display on a virtual Zoom class meeting…you will bet threatened with suspension if the offending item is not removed. Censorship.
Wear a Trump hat in public, or have a Trump bumper sticker on your car? If you’re lucky, you’ll have the hat ripped off your head, or have your car spit on. If you’re not lucky, you’ll be assaulted by a group of thugs, or have the windows on your car smashed out, or have it lit on fire.
Look into possible election fraud and represent the Trump administration in court? One attorney has asked to have all the attorneys representing President Trump in his election challenge disbarred.
Harvard University students have demanded that anyone who worked for or represented the Trump administration be banned from campus, including Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz, who represented Trump’s interests in the impeachment sham. Censorship.
How about The Great Reset? Haven’t heard of it? Oh, you will.
Remember former Chicago mayor and Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s famous saying, “Don’t ever let a serious crisis go to waste?” That’s the Democrat playbook. They do it all the time. And coronavirus is no different.
We’ve already seen it in primarily Democrat-run states across the country since March, with power-hungry governors using unauthorized power to impose mask mandates, Thanksgiving restrictions, social distance regulations, business closings, etc.
Biden has already floated the idea of a shutdown and a national mask mandate, even though, given the recent explosion in COVID-19 cases, it isn’t clear they work. In fact, some countries which had the strictest shutdown policies are now experiencing the worst bounce back of the virus.
Back to the Great Reset. In a nutshell, this is a scheme devised by gazillionaires like Bill Gates to reset the global economy away from market capitalism toward a system which equalizes outcomes. Think communism on steroids.
Of course, Gates and his ilk have already made their billions…they just want to make sure nobody else has the opportunity to do the same. Biden’s slogan, “Build Back Better,” is taken straight from The Great Reset. Mistake? We don’t think so.
Biden would also return us to more of a globalist approach, gutting our progress in equalizing the trade war with China, rejoining the Paris climate agreement which punishes the United States while letting China and India, the two biggest polluters, off the hook, and reimplementing the Iran nuclear deal, effectively destroying the progress Trump has made in the Middle East.
How about education? Teachers unions dumped millions of dollars betting on Biden/Harris. And they are going to want payback. Biden’s “unity platform” with Bernie Sanders makes sure teachers are taken care of. In fact, Biden has floated the head of one of the largest teacher’s unions in the country as a potential pick to head the Department of Education. What could possibly go wrong?
One of the priorities for the far-left wacko wing of the Democrat party, the Bernie-bot wing which includes the “squad” is forgiveness of student loans. Currently the talk is about a $10,000 forgiveness program, however others such as Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) are proposing a $50,000 limit. Others want wholesale student loan forgiveness, which would cost over $2 trillion dollars.
Who else would lose under Biden? Poor, minority children who attend successful charter schools, who are left behind in failing schools in inner cities, as well as all American children, who will be indoctrinated in a pile of cow dung called the “1619 Project,” which is a total rewriting of American history. President Trump’s “1776 Project” will be sent to the ash heap.
The Biden-Sanders manifesto would do away with all but public schools, a payback to teachers’ unions. While many of our educators are excellent teachers and to an outstanding job, far too many are just going through the motions, empowered by the teacher’s unions who have Democrats in their pockets.
Look no further than teachers’ unions such as in Los Angeles who were refusing to return to their classrooms unless police were defunded. We aren’t sure what the hell defunding the police has to do with teachers doing their jobs, but we would be interested in knowing.
Finally, it won’t only be Trump lawyers or conservative pundits who will receive payback. It is safe to assume that the over 74 million people (probably more) who voted for President Trump will have a target on their backs. We have already seen it. Proposals for “Trump Reconciliation Commissions,” suggested by bartender turned Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former Clinton treasury secretary Robert Reich.
Do not downplay this. These people want revenge, and it is not a stretch to think they won’t be looking for some form of payback. We don’t know what form it would take, but it is something to be on the lookout for.
Despite the number of accomplishments enjoyed under the Trump administration- Middle East peace, Operation Warp Speed, energy independence, no new military conflicts in four years, beneficial trade deals with Canada and Mexico, diminishing Chinese influence in our marketplace…we will be going back to the Obama days, where it was America last, not America first.
For police officers and those who desire public safety, probably the most disheartening and scary thing of all is with a theoretical Biden administration, the rule of law will be replaced by the rule of the street thug.
We saw this on full display this past summer when Democrats…including the president to be…refused to condemn the violence. Why? Those were their people.
It’s shaping up to possibly be a long four years.
